Details
The four Shakarian brothers — John, Joseph, Jack and Robert — opened their first jewerly store in Encinitas in 1983. After a few years of prosperity, they each went their separate ways in efforts to expand and grow throughout the industry in San Diego.
In 1989, after working several years in downtown San Diego as a diamond setter, John decided it was time to step back into the retail space. He and his brother Joe opened Vista’s Fine Jewelry at 212 Main Street in Vista, California. After a decade and a half, Joe branched out to open his own store in San Marcos called Levante Jewelers.
John took sole ownership of Vista's Fine Jewelry in 2005 and changed the name to John Shakarian Jeweler, the longest standing jewelry store in Vista and one of the oldest in North San Diego County.
John has more than 35 years of experience in the industry and is a master goldsmith and jewelry repairman, as well as a specialized stone setter.
